MISSION

To support the Engineering Faculty in achieving international standards in the education of engineers, in accordance with the mission and vision of the FI UdeC.

The Education Directorate in Engineering depends on the Vice-Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and has an advisory committee to define strategies, composed of five academics of recognized trajectory in teaching. It is directly related to the Linkage with the Environment (recruitment, alumni, employers) and R&D&I+e (development of R&D&E competencies in FI undergraduate and graduate students). It also collaborates with the Academic Secretary to improve administrative processes. Within the university, it is mainly related to the Directorate of Teaching, CADE for student assistance, UnIDD for support in the teaching certification process, and the directorate for the implementation of new curricula and the leveling of new students.

The UdEI is led by a director, appointed by the dean, and is organized into two areas, each with an area manager.

Curricular and Academic Development Area (DCD)
We support academics in the improvement of their teaching competencies through training, counseling and the creation of spaces to share and systematize experiences. We also seek to improve the curricula of the faculty’s careers, systematizing the curricular reform process and promoting the incorporation of effective teaching and learning evaluation methods. In addition, we hope to increase the levels of participation of academics in engineering education research.

Student Development Area
We support the processes of induction to university life through the development of actions of linkage with professional life and support for the academic performance of our students, with a focus on improving the profile of admission and support to students with direct impact on improving student retention and graduation rates.
