Central Building Faculty of Engineering

In the central building of the Engineering Faculty is located the Salvador Galvez auditorium together with two smaller auditoriums (105 and 106), the Communications office and the cafeteria. On the second floor are the offices of the Dean, Vice-Dean, Administration, Outreach, Internationalization and Technological Surveillance, as well as the Department of Electrical Engineering (DIE). On the third floor are the Departments of Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; and on the fourth floor, the Departments of Civil Engineering, Industrial Civil Engineering and the Energy Doctorate.

Gustavo Pizarro Building

The building was opened on August 13, 1959, coinciding with the First National Congress of Chemical Engineering, the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Chemical Engineers of Chile and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Universidad de Concepción. It currently houses the Department of Chemical Engineering and bears the name of Don Gustavo Pizarro Castro in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the career.

Systems Engineering Building

This building is located next to the Gustavo Pizarro building (Chemical Engineering Dept.), and houses on the second floor the E3 space (Student Recreation Area) and the Biomedical Civil Engineering laboratories. On the second floor there are classrooms and study rooms, as well as Room 2030. On the third floor, there are computer rooms and from the second floor it is connected to the offices of the Civil Biomedical Engineering academics.

Civil Engineering and Civil Aerospace Engineering Building

This building is the furthest away from the central building, located at the end of the Universidad de Concepción and houses classrooms and laboratories for Civil Engineering and Civil Aerospace Engineering.

Technological Mechanic Building

A large building that houses classrooms and several laboratories (electronic, electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, among others). These laboratories are equipped with the latest technology and receive hundreds of students from different engineering careers, who develop part of their practical exercises applying all the knowledge acquired in the classroom. It also has large antennas on the top and solar panels installed to produce clean and sustainable energy.

Metallurgical Engineering Building

The building was built in 2004 thanks to a MECESUP project, and has a total built area of 1841 m2 distributed over 3 floors. The first two floors are laboratory areas, while the third floor, of 593 m2, is destined to the administrative area of the Department.

Materials Engineering

In this building is the Department of Materials Engineering (DIMAT), with more than 2000 m2 built, distributed over three floors, in addition to 8 laboratories of specialization with cutting-edge technology for the entire student community of the program.
