Description
Mechanical Engineering UdeC – part of the Mechanical Engineering Department – applies the fundamental physical concepts of mechanics for the development and welfare of society. It is responsible for the analysis of the components and systems’ behavior in which forces and movement are involved. It is concerned with the design, analysis, optimization and construction of equipment and systems for motion, energy transformation and manufacturing processes.
Graduate Profile
The Mechanical Engineering program trains professionals capable of conceiving, designing, implementing and operating systems, products and processes related to mechanical engineering, in order to satisfy the needs of the environment, promoting sustainable development.
It provides the necessary tools to solve complex problems within the field of mechanics, in addition to developing research and detailed studies. To this end, it promotes the training of its students to exercise proactive leadership in multidisciplinary teams within the professional field, as well as to communicate effectively, using English as a second language.
Career opportunities
Any company in the productive or service sector, in the areas of maintenance, development engineering and administration. They can also work independently in engineering offices and companies in the chemical, mining, forestry, cellulose and paper, iron and steel, electrical, construction and services sectors.
